• Macau Pork Chop Burger at Tai Lei Loi Kei Cafe, Taipa, Macau

Recently, I have travelled to Macau – the Asia’s casino capital for 3 days 2 nights company annual getaway trip. In short, I conclude the most famous and more convincing casinos in Macau are – Grand Lisboa Casino, MGM, City of Dreams and The Venetian.

Before the trip, I was recommended to try out the famous local style Pork Chop Burger at Tai Lei Loi Kei Cafe near The Venetian at Taipa, Macau.

Tai Lei Loi Kei Cafe (Near The Venetian) – http://g.co/maps/btdc4
    Rua Direita Carlos Eugenio, Taipa
    氹仔巴波沙前地18號

Basically, the pork chop burger has no lettuce, pickles, tomato, cheese but just a piece of pork chop and bread. Technically, the bread is different from other pork chop buns I have seen and had. It is slightly crispier and the texture was perfect.

In conclusion, my expectation was higher. Perhaps, it is over-rated by the folks in the cyber world and the price is slightly at the high side for the location and serving. But it is worth tasting it at least for once.

Last month, the all-new ninth-generation Honda Civic Sedan was launched in Australia with 3 variants – 1.8-litre VTi-L (Manual & Auto), 2.0-litre Sport (Auto) and 1.5-litre Hybrid IMA (CVT).

To further gain on fuel efficiency, the Eco Assist Display and Econ Driving Mode from the hybrid models have been inherited to the new Civic across all variants. • 2012 Malaysian GP Front Row Lock-out For McLaren-Mercedes

Today, I have a pit lane walk session and have a close up view to all F1 cars. The experience is excellent and a special thanks to Infiniti and Red Bull Racing. The qualifying of Malaysian Grand Prix has concluded with front row lockout for McLaren-Mercedes. The atmosphere of 2012 Malaysian GP in Sepang was impressive.

Lewis Hamilton took his first Malaysian GP pole position, his teammate – Jenson Button second, Michael Schumacher third. Red Bull Racing’s Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel will start from fourth and fifth respectively.

Michael Schumacher produced the best qualifying performance of his F1 comeback, while Sebastian Vettel chose to run the harder Pirelli tyre and will start fifth for Red Bull.

“Today went a bit better than we thought in terms of pace,” Webber said. “We’re still not quick enough to challenge for the pole position, yet. There are areas where we need to improve – straight-line speed and a few things like that – but in general we had a better showing here today and I think we’ll be better in the race tomorrow.

“Our short run performances yesterday: we had a very poor balance, on lower and medium speed to high speed the car was very disconnected,” he added. “Today we managed to pull that together a lot better on low fuel and we have experience that on Sundays the car balances a bit better when we put the fuel in.”

I am looking forward for tomorrow’s race and wishes best of luck to Red Bull Racing – Webber and Vettel.

Toyota Australia’s executive director sales and marketing Matthew Callachor said the new Camry Hybrid demonstrated the benefits of Toyota’s long history with petrol-electric hybrid vehicles. “New Camry Hybrid is a leap forward in performance, refinement and efficiency,” Mr Callachor said.

Camry Hybrid debuts a highly revised version of Toyota’s Hybrid Synergy Drive powertrain, including a new 2.5-litre Atkinson cycle four-cylinder petrol engine and a high-torque electric motor which combined output to 151kW, the previous model was 140kW instead.

  • Honda Insight 1.3 Hybrid IMA Facelift in Malaysia

Last September, Honda unveiled the facelift model of Honda Insight during the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. Now, the 2012 Honda Insight is now available in Malaysia and still remained RM 99,800 OTR including insurance.

According to Honda, the facelift model has a series of technical enhancements to improve its efficiency and comfortability. From its engine tuning, CVT transmission, IMA system, air-conditioning system and revised suspension settings.

After my inspection to the new 2012 Honda Insight, I found the exterior styling on the bumpers are bolder than before. The front (including the front grille, fog lamp) and rear facades (added a silver tailgate garnish) are noticeably restyled. After the facelift, the rear visibility is now improved with larger glass area and longer rear wipers. Though, the alloy wheels remained the same design as the 2011 cars.

There are no major changes for the interior except improved insulation materials to further reduce NVH. However, the fabrics used for the seats and door panel are revised. The instruments cluster is also changed compared to the 2011 models. In addition, the ‘wave key’ has also been changed to a more compact ‘jack-knife’ key to make it easier to keep in the pocket. There are 4 colour choices are available – Super Platinum Aqua Metallic, Premium White Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl and Alabaster Silver Metallic.

  • Volvo V60 T4 and T5 Launched in Malaysia

From the Volvo XC60, to the all-new S60 sedan and now the new V60 Sportswagon.

Volvo Car Malaysia introduces the all-new V60 in 2 locally assembled variants, namely the T4 and the T5, which are priced at RM230,000 (T4) and RM269,000 (T5), both prices on-the-road, without insurance.

Both the T4 and T5 feature a Gasoline Turbocharged Direct Injection (GTDi) engine which represents Volvo’s very latest direct injection technology. The GTDi was developed to offer really low fuel consumption without compromising on performance or driving pleasure.

The T5 is a 2.0-litre petrol engine which pumps out a blistering 240 hp and 320 Nm of torque, available from 1800 to 5000 revs a minute, taking you from 0-100 km/h in 7.7 seconds flat, and pushes you to a top speed of 230km/h.

The new T4 is a 1.6-litre, 180 hp petrol engine, delivering a massive torque of 240 Nm from just 1600 and all the way up to 5000 revs a minute. An on-demand overboost function further increases torque to a massive 270Nm. And with its fuel efficient dual-clutch Powershift transmission, the result is excellent pulling power across the entire speed range, providing a particularly comfortable driving experience yet consuming only 7.5 litres per 100km for a combined driving cycle in cities and highways.

“This puts the T4 among the most powerful 1.6-litre engines in Malaysia currently,” said Mr. Peter Johnson, Volvo Car’s Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Asia Region, adding that "small, high-performance GTDi engines combined with our fuel efficient dual-clutch Powershift transmission are our bid to get more energy and efficiency out of smaller engines."

Five colours available for both variants of Volvo V60 are the Electric Silver, Ember Black, Ice White, Seashell and Flamenco Red.

What makes the V60 T5 more distinctive? The new V60 T5 comes with the groundbreaking and world leading technology such as Collision Warning with Full Auto Brake and Pedestrian Detection, and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Queue Assist and Distance Alert, which automatically maintains a set gap to the vehicle in front. What is new is that the Adaptive Cruise Control operates at speeds below 30 km/h, all the way down to standstill.

Last of all, standard with every Volvo in Malaysia, the all-new V60 includes 3-year warranty and 3 years complimentary Volvo On-Call.
