2011 Mazda Premacy / Mazda5 set to launch on 1 July 2010 for Japan Domestic Market

2011 Mazda5

Mazda Japan began taking orders throughout Japan for the all-new Mazda Premacy or better known as Mazda5 outside Japan.

The official launch of Mazda 5 is set on 1st July 2010 in Japan. As usual, there will be front-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive version offers in Japan Domestic Market (JDM).

The engines and transmissions for the 2011 Mazda5 are upgraded from the previous model. There will be automatic and manual transmission mated with either 1.8-litre or 2.0-litre engines in Japan. In the other hand, Malaysia will be likely getting the model that running on petrol 146ps 2.0-litre engine with a five-speed automatic.

Moreover, Mazda’s unique idling stop system, i-stop is included in the 2.0 models. As well as boosting fuel economy, i-stop ensures an extremely quick and smooth engine restart that is almost unnoticeable by the driver.

The price of the Mazda Premacy starts from 1,799,000 to 2,314,000 yen. I predict that it won't take long for the Mazda5 to reach our shore, probably in Q4 2010.
